{"id":166,"date":"2010-10-29T15:12:26","date_gmt":"2010-10-29T07:12:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/burnout360.caserosabah.com\/home\/?p=166"},"modified":"2011-06-21T10:59:37","modified_gmt":"2011-06-21T02:59:37","slug":"sabah-drift-challenge-postponed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/burnout360.caserosabah.com\/home\/2010\/10\/sabah-drift-challenge-postponed\/","title":{"rendered":"Sabah Drift Challenge Postponed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Source : <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailyexpress.com.my\/news.cfm?NewsID=75446\">http:\/\/www.dailyexpress.com.my\/news.cfm?NewsID=75446<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Kota Kinabalu:<\/strong> The Sabah Drift Challenge, which was initially  scheduled for next month has been postponed to a later date, the  organiser, Casero Events, announced yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>Now it is likely to be held early next year, the earliest.<\/p>\n<p>Among the reasons for the postponement was the unavailability of a suitable venue.<\/p>\n<p>The challenge, dubbed BURNOUT360 was initially scheduled to take place  at the Sabah Ports open area, but the organiser was told the venue is  unavailable.<\/p>\n<p>Organising Chairman Steve Johnny Mositun said they apologise for all the  inconvenience caused especially to their sponsors, who were expecting  the event to take place next month.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Now, we are left with no choice but to look for another alternative.<\/p>\n<p>We have done that and until everything is finalised, only then will we announce the new venue.<\/p>\n<p>He said that they are now looking at early next year to stage the event.<\/p>\n<p>Casero Events, was supposed to co-host the challenge together with the City Hall, in collaboration with KK D1 Club.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>&#8220;Since now that we have more time to prepare, we hope that it would help  us achieve our main objective of promoting motorsport locally or  internationally and stage it with quality.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Steve added that they are also trying to bring world class drifters for the challenge.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>In fact, Steve revealed Asia&#8217;s No 1 and No 2 drifters, Kiki (from  Thailand) and Djan (Malaysia), have both agreed to be part of Burnout  360.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We firmly believe that their presence will surely make BURNOUT360 merrier with their world class performances.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This would eventually help us convince our sponsors to chip in more for Sabah&#8217;s motorsport industry.<\/p>\n<p>Steve said that the staging of BURNOUT360 would be a stepping stone for  motorsport in Sabah especially drifting to develop further.<\/p>\n<p>He went on to say that Casero Events&#8217; vision and mission is clear and  simple and that they want to make and turn Sabah into one of the venue  for the Asia Drift Series, which if happens would help boost sports  tourism for the State.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We will be appointing travel agency to help us promote Sabah as sports tourism attraction internationally.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Interestingly, if this turns into reality, it will indirectly create business opportunities for the people of Sabah.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;So what we need now is the good cooperation between Casero Events and  the government to be strengthened because one of the main obstacles in  promoting the sport is venue.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As such, we humbly hope that the government will help us on this.<\/p>\n<p>With proper planning and discussion, we believe that we can reach amicable solution to end this problem,&#8221; said Steve.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Source : http:\/\/www.dailyexpress.com.my\/news.cfm?NewsID=75446 Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Drift Challenge, which was initially scheduled for next month has been postponed to a later date, the organiser, Casero Events, announced yesterday.
