Drift Challenge Burnout 360 set to ignite drifting scene

Kota Kinabalu: Motorsports fans are in for a treat as the Sabah Drift Challenge Burnout 360 is set to ignite the scene here, in November.

The event, which is being organised by Casero Events in collaboration with KK D1 Club, is scheduled to be held on the 6th, at the Sabah Port, here.

Casero Events Directing Manager, Steve Datuk Johnny Mositun, who is also the event organising chairman, said that a total of 40 cars are expected to take part in the event, which will comprise two main competitions, Category A and Category B.

“The Category A competition will be the main attraction as it will be the most exciting one to watch.

“Participants competing in this event will put their best drifting skills to the test as they will compete closely in a side-by-side contest.

“The other competition, which is the Category B event, is also equally exciting to watch.

“Here participants will go on a solo run where they will perform their best drifting manoeuvres to impress the judges and spectators.

The one with the best moves and best angles will win,” said Steve, adding that the whole affair will have plenty of other activities for everyone to enjoy.

Those who turn up at the event will also stand a chance to actually ride in a drift car in what the organisers have dubbed the Hot Seat Drive event.

“Visitors only need to purchase a T-shirt and they will have the chance to experience themselves what it feels like to actually be part of the action inside a drifting car,” said Steve.

Apart from the drift competitions, there will also be an event called Time Attack.

Participants competing in this event will test the speed of their cars in a timed straight-line sprint test.

“This will surely be a popular event among the local avid motorsport enthusiasts,” said Steve.

Among other attractions will be a high-speed drift competition, crowd favourite drifter, drift shows/demo, umbrella girls, motor shows and high-end car exhibition.

And as an additional effort to attract visitors, Casero Events will also be offering attractive prizes in a lucky draw for all visitors.

“The whole event will be filled with various attractions that everyone can take part in and enjoy.

“There will be competitions to watch, shows to enjoy, performances (by local artistes) for entertainment and fun and games for everyone” said Steve, adding that efforts to promote the event have recently kick-started to ensure the public knows what will be happening.
